Dear Friends

First of all, I want to apologize for the delay on this letter.

I am very excited to give some updates about the Mota’s family and ministry as well.

Our family is doing pretty good.  I am still going to the doctor for tests to keep track of my health.  I feel totally recovered, and I have been really busy with the kids and ministry.

Daniel was having bad allergies but he is doing better know.  He is in fourth grade trying to adjust with the new demand of homework, etc.   Sofia is doing very well.  She has bundles of energy all the time, which sometimes makes me feel so young, but other times I feel very old.  It is a funny feeling.

We have a new member of the family, a dog named Bowie, he is one-year old.   As you might expect it is definitely more work, but it is worth it to see the kids enjoy him so much.

NEWS ON THE MINISTRY

Searching For God

We met Selma who is married, with 4 children.  Yslaine 15, Ingrid 14 and Cicero 11, they live in Pro Morar.   Her husband is an alcoholic.  To make money they sell things at the stop light.  The children were helping them do this for awhile, but for security reasons Selma doesn’t let them do this anymore.

The children enjoy going to school, but school is very difficult for Cicero, the youngest, because he has down syndrome. The mom takes care of them very well, she does her best.

Selma is not a believer but she let the children participate in RM activities.  The kids enjoyed it so much that they started to ask us to visit their house and pray with their family.  Selma has kindly opened her home to us.  She is so gentle all the time that it makes us feel comfortable with her and her family.

They live in a very simple, small place, a cardboard house.  Around her house smells very bad and they have to live with that smell and just get used to it.

On top of all this, she recently had a stroke and it left her whole left-side paralyzed.  Even through this entire situation she keeps praying and wants to know more about Christ.  She even started to tell her friends about Restoration Ministries and encourages them to ask us to visit and pray for them.

Can you believe that Selma’s situation has changed?

Selma is feeling better, today she is able to walk, Praise the Lord!

She still having a little trouble with her left hand, but she is happy because she is walking and talking.

She got a new place to live, although still in Pro Morar, she is rejoicing because it is a nicer place.

She has a prayer request that is very heavy on her heart, that her husband will stop drinking.

Please pray for Her!!!

Capoeira Ministry

We had a wonderful and blessed event at the main Day Center, where we had lots of children and adults participating.  This has been a blessed ministry and a strong way to reach the kids for Christ!

Teens Ministry

In the last event, we had 77 teens participating with us. It was fun and also special to see them start to get interested in hearing about God.

Trips ongoing:

Paulo and Wellington are travelling to the U.S. to visit different places.  So far they are having a good time, the trip has been productive. Wellington has really been enjoying the opportunity to sing at the churches and different meetings that they have participated in.

Tatiane is in the Philippines.  She has been enjoying her time there so far, she was already invited to do the devotional for the group.  There were just two women in the group, the rest were men.

Raphaelly is doing much better, for those that don’t already know, she has a rare type of leukemia.  She was recently in the intensive care unit, in critical condition. She has reacted very well to all the treatment so now she is out of the ICU and in a regular room.  Thanks so much for all your prayers!

We have a new missionary serving with us:

Steve Thompson.  He will be serving with us for one year.  He is involved in our Agita ministry, the teens ministry, teaching English and he will also be running a basketball camp in Sapopemba soon!

Sarah Cole she will be serving with us for  three  months. She is involved in our Agita ministry, the teen minsitry, teaching English and she is leading a girls bible study at the main Day Center.

Upcoming Event :

Children’s Day party on October 10!!!

We will have 420 children at the Day Center for a big party; we will have music, games, skits and a worship time. Please keep praying for this.

Thanks so much for being a part of all of this,

May God continue to bless each one of you.

Have a great day!!

In Him,
