Discover how we teach the value of purity and obedience to God to the next generations during our children’s day celebration.

Hello, how are you?
Many things have happened here since the last time we shared with you everything that God has been doing. But we want to tell you about last weekend here at Restoration Ministries, where we held two parties for our children.
In Brazil, the month of October is considered Children’s Month because of Children’s Day, which takes place on the 12th. Keeping this in mind, every year we prepare a very special celebration in honor of our little ones. We call this celebration “Day of Being a Child.”
The Day of Being a Child is a festive event filled with fun, games, inflatable toys, contests, food, sweets, and everything that children love. But most importantly, it includes a lot of learning and reflection on the Word of God.
This year, we decided to teach the children about the importance of maintaining purity and not being contaminated by the wrong things in this world, while remaining faithful to God through obedience to His Word. For this, we shared part of the story of Daniel and his friends in Babylon, recorded in the Bible in the book of Daniel, chapter 1.
The story begins when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon invades Jerusalem and takes captive some young nobles, including Daniel and his three friends: Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. They are chosen to serve in the king’s palace, receiving education, food, and Babylonian names. However, Daniel and his friends decide not to defile themselves with the food and wine offered by the king, as this would violate their dietary laws. Instead, they ask to eat only vegetables and drink water. After a period of testing, they appear healthier and wiser than the other young men, and God grants Daniel special wisdom to interpret visions and dreams. In the end, they gain favor with the king, remaining faithful to God in a culture that tried to lead them away from their beliefs. This story teaches us the value of maintaining integrity and faithfulness to God, resisting the pressure to conform to practices that displease Him, especially in times of challenge.
“How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.” Psalms 119:9
Being able to teach this to the children was a great privilege! They understood that the best choice we can make is to seek the purity that can only be found through obedience to the Word of God, even when everything around us tries to influence us to do the opposite.
Our desire is for them to continue living life as the beautiful and blessed children they are, because, for them, every day is a day to be a child. We also hope that these teachings remain in their hearts so that, even when they grow up and become adults, they do not stray from the path they should follow. May they choose every day to walk the Way that leads to eternal life: Jesus, our Lord, is that Way.
We count on your prayers for each of these children. Pray for them. They need your prayers. We need them too. Together, with God’s help, we will continue to make a difference and participate in what God is doing to transform our communities, one life at a time.
