Going outside the church walls, Restoration Ministries runs an open-air program
called AGITA, which is something like a “Christian block party.”
We bring our program into the heart of these slum communities, and strategically position ourselves near the known drug trafficking locations. We hope to reach the children and teenagers of these communities who walk out their front door every morning and are faced with the kind of realities that most people only see on T.V.. It is the druglords that run these communities and the druglords that become the role models for these kids. This is the only life they know. But our program gives these kids another choice. We are convinced that change is not going to happen through food handouts or welfare money. The only answer is Jesus. He offers t’s the kind of transforming love that can only be found in Christ, and it’s in Him that we find true freedom. Whatever our life circumstances, we are all desperately in need of His saving grace.
Our program is divided into two parts: 1- Fun: you give the children a place to express themselves; 2- Serious part: the message. They have to sit still and understand it is the most important moment because they will be hearing from God´s word.
Restoration Ministries does a follow up with those involved through the weekly home visit program where we connect and build relationships with the families.
